Stocks set to open higher and hit new records
Stocks were set to rise at the open Friday and push further into record territory in a holiday-shortened trading session.Dow futures were up 0.3% prior to the market open and S&P 500 futures gained 0.2%. Nasdaq futures rose 0.1%.The recent market rally that has been sparked by investor optimism of a more business and market friendly Donald Trump administration picked back up after U.S. markets were closed Thursday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Markets were set to close at 1 p.m. ET on Friday.Overseas, European stocks were mixed as Asian markets edged higher Friday.Britain’s FTSE 100 wa up 0.2% while France’s CAC 40 fell 0.1% and Germany’s DAX retreated 0.1%.
